Re: Message from BK

Ok, so I'm getting some significant interest in a BK related sub-forum. So what would be the guidelines for moderating it? Are we saying that all discussion there should be focused on explicating or elaborating upon BK's model, and that any critique of the model, regardless of how well thought thro...

Re: Message from BK

Right, so a discussion whether Analytic Idealism perpetuates the Kantian Divide or not, is a good example of a topic belonging to the BK subforum. And why not to the topic-specific forum, since it's surely topic-specific? I like Martin's suggestion. The site is metakastrup so having a somewhat dedi...

Re: what is not in mind is abstract

Well this is getting back to the core debate about the so-called Kantian divide, and the question of whether or not the existence of an immanent, irreducible transpersonal source Mind is also not an inferred abstraction within a human mind that somehow, we know not how, inexplicably emerged from a ...

Re: Message from BK

Of course, this might be more work for the moderator. :) Yup, and likely may have to wait for a succession process. Any volunteers? (Notwithstanding the process portrayed in the HBO series ;) ) One thing about having a single dedicated forum/topic to BK or analytical idealism would be that it might...

Re: what is not in mind is abstract

Mark, Maybe you can explain this some more. In my view mind, perception, and feeling are abstract concepts. My perception of a particular rose might or might not be abstract but "perception" by itself seems to me clearly a abstract concept. But aren't abstract concepts in "mind" ...

Re: Message from BK

With the delinking it might be a good time to solicit comments on future of the forum and how it should be structured. Everything does seem to gravitate toward the general section. The forum could change in two different directions. One way would be more narrowly focused and anything not directly re...

Re: Message from BK

Actually 12 steps doesn't work all that well. “Peer reviewed studies peg the success rate of AA somewhere between five and 10 percent,” writes Dodes. “About one of every 15 people who enter these programs is able to become and stay sober.” https://www.theatlantic.com/health/archive/2014/03/the-surp...

Re: Message from BK

I hope you see I am proceeding in good faith, despite all the reasons to assume the worst. I have seen enough here to know the phantom layer of abstract concepts moving in circular logic is no joke. It is the real deal. Addiciton is the best metaphor here (more than a metaphor, really) - when we ar...

Shu
Eugene actually took it upon himself to message Bernardo with a rant about a cult of Anthropology,
You meant "anthroposophy", right?

As far as the link goes, it would seem a strong disclaimer attached to link about the forum's independence would have been sufficient.

Re: Entanglement etc. Materialism vs. Idealism

Two Absolute Idealists were walking in the countryside when one fell down a hidden well. The one up top said, "Well, well, well! You get to experience the thing-in-itself. Can you describe it?" The one down below said, "It's phenomenally cold, dark and wet." The one up top said, ...
