Re: Survival

What a toxic place this has become almost an anti-BK-forum. I will be a passive reader from now on for the most part. Well, I would suggest more 'meta' kastrup, as the forum name implies, rather than anti-kastrup—although some occasional facile detractors may be in that category. My own critique, i...

Re: Survival

Indeed, science, based on subjective experience, once studied a pattern of the sun, along with the firmament at large, 'rising' and 'setting' beyond the horizon, and came up with a theory of geocentrism, plausible enough at the time. Until science deduced through reason that the earth was spinning ...

Re: Survival

There is a list of unclaimed prizes for evidence of the paranormal. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_prizes_for_evidence_of_the_paranormal The Scientific American prize for mediumship never got claimed. Apparently none of the others have either. I guess it is insufficient belief on the part of ...

Re: survivival

It also seems to be fundamentally misunderstanding what science does. Science establishes facts then develops models and descriptions that allow predictions. There is no established fact relating to life after death. There is a conjecture that is probably more wishful thinking than anything else. B...

Re: survivival

BK just posted this on his fb-page. Where and when did this win an award? https://www.bigelowinstitute.org/Winning_Essays/Brnardo_Kastrup.pdf?fbclid=IwAR3I4unPMxK1T6cH5Pgh9OLas9lF3u7Qj-mmlfgAXQQ0i1RTG8yUA8cIh7Y Seems like just a reworking of old and familiar ideas. He still seems to miss the fact t...

Re: For better or for worse?

The problem with all prophets is determining how much of the prophet's personal psychic crisis is projected to their world prophecies.

Pretty devastating review of 2012 at NY Times.

Re: For better or for worse?

I have very mixed feelings about Pinchbeck. He is something of want-a-be prophet. But his prophecies in 2012 were pretty much totally wrong. I also remember his posts on "orbs" (basically light anomalies in photos called backscatter) and a spiraling Russian rocket which he thought was hera...
