Re: On the Gradient of Thinking
'speak to the forms' I mean they don't address the existence of immortal ideas and forms (ie Platonic Ideas) Obviously they speak to other people, saints, animals, etc For myself, I don't believe these immortal forms exist except as an artifact of a culture or religion. For example, a mass of folks...

Re: On the Gradient of Thinking
These quotes\references point to the direct perception and appreciation of the unboundedness of Being in all things and all beings. I am That, this is That, all this is nothing but That. This appreciation can have a flavor of a culture or a deity, or a master. There typically is a spirit of devotion...

Re: On the Gradient of Thinking
Lorenzo, you seem to adopt a nihilistic position denying the manifested world of forms, and denying the activity of consciousness that creates the world of forms, any value and reality. The Reality of Consciousness is like two sides of the same coin - what Consciousness is and what it does - and bo...

Re: This forum
I must be missing something - I fail to see how thinking, a local and finite activity, no matter how exalted, can directly invoke or be equivalent to a Oneness, or Intuitive Whole. Can a thought convey unboundedness\Infinity\Freedom? And if this is possible, to invoke a thought as Ideal Principle o...

Re: This forum
In the spirit of ‘reaching across the aisle’ I’ve considered naming samadhi\pure consciousness a specific manner of thinking, even though it’s traditionally described as non-thinking. We’ve all experienced thinking gross or crude thoughts (gross and crude not in content but mechanics, and we’ve expe...

Re: This forum
Lorenzo, I know this post by Ashvin was particularly appealing to you because of its one-paragraph format, however it would be great if you could also read the last one from Cleric, which was explicitly written to your attention and benefit. Please… it's still a reasonable length. Don't you think i...

Re: This forum
Great! Then I imagine the next time we hear from you, after you have digested the material on this forum at your own pace, it won't be another video link to nondual awakening, which we have all agreed traps us at the threshold of true Self-lucidity, or commiseration about the past history of the fo...
