Re: Is Idealism & Panpsychism Really Incompatible?

I don't think panpsychism and idealism are incompatible. If one embraces a Spinozian view which envisages all there is as a "mode" of the same "substance", then mind and matter are also two different modes of that substance. The panpsychist sees the fragmented self-differentites ...

Re: Why should M@L = God be loving?

I think you have made very good points. That's why I also never embraced the idea of an "instinctual" and "blind" M@L. Too many inconsistencies, too many explanatory gaps and also contradicting the mystic experience throughout time and cultures. Of course, I think BK has the evol...

Re: A theory that the universe might be a neural network

You can surely see a difference between spotting patterns as a kid and getting a quantitative analysis of structures that concludes that they are identical mathematically published in a peer-reviewed journal? True, but a mathematical analysis is far from being a proof that there is any relation. Th...

Re: Evolution

How would the natural selection through random mutations make it possible that whales and bats share the same genes responsible for echolocation even though the anatomical mechanisms are different? As far as I understand biology, genes are only a code for protein synthesis, they do not code for the...

Re: Evolution

I accept Evolution as fact, but the mechanism is unclear to me. It seems far more likely that consciousness drives Evolution, rather than natural selection. Consider this lengthy quote. Yes, that's what the so called movement of "Intelligent Design" keeps saying. I'm not a supporter of ID...

Re: How to explain synchronicity?

If all existence is an indivisible whole, an all-pervading oneness then we can not be separate. Our separation is a superficial appearance of the mind. Our actions and thoughts have repercussions on that indivisible whole.

Re: If all is consciousnesses, why aren't all quantum states collapsed since observed?

If everything is consciousness why not positing that the collapse is caused by Mind at Large? I find the idea that there is a supposed "role of the observer" in quantum physics a very anthropocentric view.

Re: A theory that the universe might be a neural network

When you look for analogies you always will find one. When I was kid I was passionate in finding patterns in the clouds resembling animals and people and always found one. But extrapolating from that to reality is not much more than wild speculation.

Re: Is the Atom Designed ?

Without the existence of neutrons, no atoms. Without the Pauli principle, no atoms. Without a light electron, only much smaller atoms which would burn away by nuclear fusion at room temperature. I don't know if it indicates design but that doesn't look like something that happened by a fortuitous co...

Re: Neuroscientists Have Discovered a Phenomenon That They Can’t Explain

Yet another annoying piece of evidence that does not fit into the physicalist narrative. From that point of view there is no reason why specialized neurons should "drift" towards other functions while subjected to the same stimulus. From the non-physicalist view which sees the brain as a &...
