A house is built in simple steps, one brick at a time. Eventually, the building is done: it is simple and functional. Or the owner can refuse to accept it, adding extensions, ornate turrets, decorative finials, running scrolls and fancy motifs. He can inlay it with gold and encrust it with diamonds....

But we don't only exist in that thin slice, but also in the sub-sensory and supra-sensory depths.
