Re: Xenobot ( first living robots ) question (help)

I’m with Bernardo on this. The only way we can make anything living is by taking bits from living things and changing them or adding to them. A robot is something we create … as in we make it using our knowledge. If anyone can provide the code these ‘xenobots’ are running, or create one without star...

The History of Idealism

I’ve only sampled a couple of chapters so far, but this is pretty good for anyone interested;

Re: BK calling out Sam Harris on his "sophomoric ignorance"

Presumably Harris does a fair bit of meditating? It seems strange that someone who produces an app on meditation, can so badly miss-understand the experience and the understanding from people who have spent their whole lives doing it? People who don’t understand even the basics of what idealism is e...

Thanks for sharing. This is how my language speaks. True (tosi) is as actualizes, as realizes (toteutuu). Re: Bernardo's latest essay

Simon, thank you for sharing that from Borella. I am not going to pretend I followed all of it, but I think I followed most of it, and from what I did follow, it sounded spot on. There are some minor issues I have, such as the actual-potential distinction which may be unnecessary if we think in ter...

Re: Bernardo's latest essay

I find it very interesting how your inability to understand our position is proof of the core tenet of that position - that Thinking remains in your " blind spot ". It's like the person who abstracts from consciousness, abstracts from the abstractions of consciousness, abstracts the abstr...

Re: Bernardo's latest essay

Just to be clear, if I ever express frustration on here, like I am sure there has been in some of my recent comments, it's not because someone is disagreeing with me... it's because they don't seem to be taking the time to even understand the position I am supporting. I’m absolutely fine with you g...

Re: What constitutes “observation” (/“measurement”)

We too vocalize the feelings and thoughts and meanings of the dog member of our family in human language. Often just to tease and jest. I can imagine your cat talking through your mouth: "You should propably keep that to yourself..." :) Ventriloquism is mere child's play to the cats. The ...
