Re: Criticism

So basically what we have with Jeff Williams is not criticism of idealism, so much as his own intractable naive realist “thinking in the blind spot” masquerading as criticism? It even appears that when (repeatedly) confronted with this, by senior forum members, instead of Williams addressing or ack...

Re: Message from BK

I think some people come here for just the BK stuff. Having a 'just BK section would focus that traffic. Historically, this attachment to BK was implied in a sense; "everything" was about analytic idealism, but since the discussions now span a multitude of subjects, some not specifically a...

Re: Message from BK

Right, so a discussion whether Analytic Idealism perpetuates tha Kanticn Divide or not, is a good example of a topic belonging to the BK subforum.

Re: Message from BK

I agree this place has been a tad unbalanced lately, both in terms of topics and levels of participation (~45% of the posts is from the top 3 posters). BUT, I wouldn't get my hopes up finding a better place where views are being discussed with such passion and tenacity without letting it implode int...

Re: Criticism

Ok. 2nd try. the Intellect gave us separations such as "E", etc. It was Reason which recognized the unity in "E=mc 2 " as per quote from Steiner: The intellect causes the separation of the individual configurations — because they do indeed confront us in the given as individual e...

Re: Criticism

so no lightbulb above his head? Oh, there is lightbulb. I would say scientist today don't even grasp the full significance of these ideas. I mean, they do grasp them intellectually, they look them straight into the face but when they have to think about time existing simultaneously, they simply don...

Re: Entanglement etc. Materialism vs. Idealism

maybe the question is; after enlightenment, are they still mountains, or are they Mountains? as in "still mountains but instilled with more meaning than before." They are mountains purged from irrelevant (metaphysical) meanings that we associated with them before true dat. that's another ...

Re: Criticism

Ok. i can work with that. Just to check if we're all on the same page, (using the above definition of Reason), we DO agree, that when Einstein came up with E=mc 2 , he exercised both Intellect and Reason, right? This is something much more convoluted. We can say that he used Reason when he tried to...
