Re: A few definitions

I am not disparaging the role of introspection by suggesting to clarify terms in a conversation. For example, two persons could have an extended conversation about football, yet one person is thinking European football (soccer), and the other is thinking American football. A 'simple' clarification ...

Re: Essay: Retracing Spiritual Activity (Part III)

My impression is that you are accomplishing something unique here, with this fine-grained conceptual introduction to imagination. Once you draw it for yourself, you don’t flee with the loot, so to say, but provide a careful and faithful conceptual proxy for a non-conceptual experience. This seems t...

Cleric, Sorry for the delay in replying - I've had successive overseas trips. Of course any response to what is meant by particular words in the bible has to be prefixed with the question of provenance. Critical scholars generally agree that few words in the gospel of John can be ascribed to Jesus....

Note: I have just edited the essay to add significant content because I felt the principles could be fleshed out more and the transitions could be better. For anyone who already read it, you may want to give it another pass through.

Essay: Retracing Spiritual Activity (Part III)

What we have so far discussed in Part I and Part II has been mostly a principled overview of the spiritual retracing path, although, if we have been imaginatively engaging this overview, we have also started the retracing as well. Were you referring to this post, Cleric? If so, the quote link is in the post.

Re: Essay: Spiritual Retracing - Principle Overview (Part I)

So you are saying that we need to resort to 'previous' solar evolutions we never discussed here, or read about in Steiner or elsewhere (as far as I know), in order to find what Cleric said not confusing? Do you really think Cleric was implying something of that kind - previous solar systems where s...

Which one? :D :) Joking aside - thanks for the reminders. The question below is the one I asked, and Ashvin said: "Yes it does". To clarify, what I meant was that our storied 'history' of the Cosmos, for ex. the whole conception of the Kant-Laplace nebula or the Big Bang and how it gradua...
