I think I actually understand Cleric at last! But I don't 'think' the problem is at the level he puts it. When I lift and hold the pencil and use it, I understand it up to a point (heh!). Reality may, and most likely will turn out to be much more rich and deep than these views tend to believe. I agree. But I'd add: we tend to adopt a worldview that naturally resonates with us. I don't think we can just reason our way to a different worldview, because reason is not our primary motiva...

WOW, thanks for pointing, never heard of him but that "Passion of the Western Mind" is an excellent book, will be reading
If you know any Astrology, his Cosmos and Psyche is also very good.
