Re: Survival

while being wary of over-speculating about so-called paranormal experiences, like NDEs, OBEs, psychedelic trips, etc Speaking of that, re: the essay of this topic. (Formal) BK does go into a lot more detail on these subjects than I have seen him (Formally) do before. The article also clarifies the ...

Re: Patterns and Meaning in Music

We practically don't re-cognize anything as a conscious agent, so yes I can think of many examples : ) Pythagoras spoke of the music in the movement of the celestial spheres. This is literally true in my view. But I suspect you are trying to highlight that ideational agency underlies all such Macro...

Re: Patterns and Meaning in Music

Cleric said: In the highest sense, Music is the flowing Word I resonate a lot with this, because just as we words are the symbols through which we grasp the True Meaning, so is music full of communicative symbols through which we may grasp the same. The thread-starting video, discusses this ( ~31:30...

Re: Patterns and Meaning in Music

Re: Patterns and Meaning in Music

Keeping with the musical theme of the thread ... Mea culpa I suppose for not being more articulate about what I'm wishing to express and explore here (perhaps should have opted for the topic-specific section), which is to carry on from Ashvin's essay (linked to above), to make a demonstrable case t...

Re: Patterns and Meaning in Music

I'm curious, does anyone know of an example in nature of what we would recognize as music that is not being expressed through what we would recognize as a conscious agent? We practically don't re-cognize anything as a conscious agent, so yes I can think of many examples : ) Pythagoras spoke of the ...

Re: Survival

Ok, here's a nugget from BK which I haven't seen before. (p.39):
The reason the cosmic web looks like a neuronal network is because it's the extrinsic appearance of MAL! (my paraphrasing)

You're right. I should stop feeding Jim.
I'll get back to reading BK's essay.
