Re: Phenomenological idealism: definitions of common terms

I've personally been referring to Goethe's Idea as the "Field of Meaning", and I totally agree that it wouldn't be particurlarly surprising, if it turned out to be quite fundamental.

Re: Phenomenological idealism: definitions of common terms

Thank you Cleric. Your last post has finally convinced me that there's absolutely no point for me to read Steiner. You say it better. You have the rigor. You, I understand. (Most of the time) Steiner is from a different time, different battle, different audience, and different background. If i want ...

Re: Criticism

As you might have guessed, I've read them as well, but i think it was at some point in the nineties, so I'd need to revisit them as well in order to be able to participate in any pointful discussion.

Re: Phenomenological idealism: definitions of common terms

Ashvin, do you also agree with the following hypothetical exchange: The bold is already a major assumption which has strayed from the phenomenological approach. You are already assuming a monism in which there are a two subjects with overlapping "spaces" of conscious phenomena (I am inclu...

Re: Criticism

"Thought forms the alters" - this is what I call abstract to the maximum (even beyond BK's view). Think of it this way - where can we possibly go from there to get a better, more precise understanding of what's actually happening in the development of sentient living beings? If you have a...

Re: Phenomenological idealism: definitions of common terms

Step #2. If you agree with the above definition (I do), then answer these questions: - In your 1-st person subjective experience you experience certain qualitative phenomena, such as the color of the wall in your room. In my subjective 1-st person experience I do not experience the same phenomenon ...
