Re: Anthroposophy for Dummies
The depth of PoF, which turns out is very hard to grasp for many, leads us to the idea that the more we undress the layers of conditioning of personality, family, nation, race, gender, religion, the more we discover ourselves as a spiritual being that draws upon a holistic source of inspiration, wh...

Re: Anthroposophy for Dummies
Thanks Cleric for another illuminating post. I feel like I have a better grasp of what imaginative cognition means and the goals of meditation. But...I'm still not settled in regard to my line of questioning here. It is often spoken of here of Thinking precipitating into (dead) thought percepts. In...

Re: Anthroposophy for Dummies
Focusing on the highlighted text, how do we understand this from a PoF perspective? What is the percept here? What is it that our thinking supplies meaning to and is all this thinking, this "inner comprehension", behind the veil, in the realms of higher cognition? That’s a great question....

Re: Anthroposophy for Dummies
When thinking about the sensory world we arrive at certain intuitions like inertia, pressure, temperature and so on. This may lead us to believe that higher intuition, which reveals the moral dimension of the Cosmos, analogously reveals moral laws, as some articles, paragraphs, points. This however...

Re: Anthroposophy for Dummies
I've been pondering this post and trying to work out how intuitions fit in. Ethical intuitionists understand moral intuitions as being immediately apprehended by our understanding, self-evident propositions. I'm seeing tension here with Cleric's great post some time back. Whatever the moral intuiti...

Re: Anthroposophy for Dummies
Is Steiner saying percepts in and of themselves are pure givens, and it is only with the attendant thinking that we can infer their nature? In other words, one doesn't import any presuppositions about their nature. If that is so, how does Steiner understand percepts after the operation of thinking?...

Re: The Nature of the sensory world or do we really *know* the ultimate ground of reality?
There is no need to be defensive whenever a negative observation is made pertaining to SS. Yes it has a branding problem. Yes it sounds weird at times. Yes, it appears to give insufficient regard to non-dual experience. Yes, it is hard to understand. Take it on board and continue your fine work dist...

Re: Meditation exercise on "separate me"
They are as small as our thoughts are. In our abstract mind God is small too - it's just a concept, a thought-marble. All efforts here, including on the latest Meditation thread, are to point towards the way our inner flow of becoming has to be transformed if we are to gain consciousness not simply...

Re: Meditation exercise on "separate me"
I must admit that the Jupiter, Venus, Vulcan, Sun, Moon conditions terms sit uncomfortably with me. They sounds so....small. We exist in a very large universe! They are as small as our thoughts are. In our abstract mind God is small too - it's just a concept, a thought-marble. All efforts here, inc...

Re: Meditation exercise on "separate me"
The perspective offered here is very helpful but then I can't see how it translates into mundane phenomena like blocking a stream of light with an opaque filter. To continue our investigation in the nature of the sensory world we have no choice but go into some of the concrete details of initiatic ...
