Psychedelics & Western Civilization
McKenna reaching back to a stoned ape and others with a less distant reach have thought that psychedelics (entheogens) are among the root causes of some aspects of our civilized forms (perhaps Idealism). Personally, I dunno know but it's interesting to note the emerging evidence of ritual use of the...

Come to the orchard in Spring.
There is light and wine, and sweethearts
in the pomegranate flowers.
If you do not come, these do not matter.
If you do come, these do not matter.

Re: BK's 'Phantom World' Hypothesis for NDEs
Ashvin, I do not disagree but once again your comment raises a specific simple concrete question, which can be answered with a 'yes' or 'no' wothout more elaborate explanation. You ask: How could anyone know these details [about after death] with any concreteness? I ask: In your present here-and-no...

Re: BK's 'Phantom World' Hypothesis for NDEs
I came across BK's recent essay through Discord and am sharing the link here, along with my brief response. It could be interesting to also respond on BK's site, although I think it would need to be much more refined. *** BK article - https://www.bernardokastrup.com/2024/02/the-phantom-world-hypoth...

Re: BK's 'Phantom World' Hypothesis for NDEs
I think we should remember that in a sense the dissociative boundary is real, although not exactly of the nature that BK conceives. This reminds me of a story by Gianni Rodari. His works were influenced by his political views but we can nevertheless contemplate the story for its Imaginative content...

Re: Fantastic interview with Jacob Collier
The way JC explains the role of thinking (or not) in his practical musical process seems relevant to much that is discussed abstractly here on the forum. It's also quite interesting to hear him on his childhood and mother as well as the way the neuroscientist relates to it. https://www.youtube.com/w...

Musical Commentary on Not-Thinking
This is fascinating. I hope you'll listen, contemplate and offer your views. PLEASE DO!

Re: KASTRUP AND SHELDRAKE ON THE COSMIC MIND
Cleric and Stranger, What's particularly interesting to me in my late-stage living/dying process is how 'natural' the things you mention seem to me. Seems like I'm doing my version of expanding awareness all the time. Is this because of my 30 years with Santo Daime? Might I have evolved as well or ...
