As far as I understand it, BKs theory is in line with Darwinian evolution and posits M@L as not having any design or telos. Mind produces thoughts that come and go. It is mutable. Spirit (or consciousness) is the immutable "witness", the underlying "experiencer" of the thoughts that doesn't change. That's why conflating mind with spirit or consciousness is not a philosophically advisable practice.
