Re: What causes bad trips?

Wow Adur, thanks for this response. It was very insightful, especially the part about the Third Door, because I indeed heard people speaking about some dreadful final stage they always shy away from, and I assume that's what they are talking about. Now I feel tempted to share my entire experience t...

Re: Intuitive Idealism vs. Analytic Idealism (Part I): A critique of Bernardo Kastrup’s formulation

You may still think this explanation is too simplistic. But this narcissistic focus of attention is based on ego structures. And ego structures are far from simple. They are the result of a long process (starting in early childhood) of becoming identified with certain emotions, beliefs, perceptions...

Re: What causes bad trips?

I have a quite limited experience with psychedelics, but I had one ego-death level trip, which, while left me pretty shaken afterwards (after my ego returned), was a beautiful experience through and through while I was having it. So in short, I haven't had a bad trip yet. My theory, though, is most...

Re: Intuitive Idealism vs. Analytic Idealism (Part II): An alternative formulation of idealism

Anyway. My question is, is there a risk of "spiritual bypass" in the "Thinking path" you practice? How do you deal with the unsconscious conditioning, the egoic structures? I'm genuinely interested in that. Thank you Adur, for these constructive questions! Let's begin from the m...

Re: Intuitive Idealism vs. Analytic Idealism (Part II): An alternative formulation of idealism

I don't think that is what is happening. This is my reasoned conclusion and not simply something I am repeating from Steiner or Cleric, although their Thinking also pointed me in the right direction. The problem is that we don't sense our true Thinking anymore, it just happens in the background wit...

Re: Intuitive Idealism vs. Analytic Idealism (Part II): An alternative formulation of idealism

Adur, I'm really glad you tried the exercise and could find something new in it. Now I won't try to dissuade you about your chosen path. These things are very sensitive and are usually related with things we bring from past lives. I would like to only leave you with a thought. The goal of the exerc...

Re: Intuitive Idealism vs. Analytic Idealism (Part II): An alternative formulation of idealism

Here is an example that may be useful: when I read Cleric's posts, I usually don't understand intellectually most of what he says. My logical reasoning mind would instantly dismiss his words as gibberish. But my heart tells me that there is something deeply truthful and authentic in Cleric's words....

Re: Intuitive Idealism vs. Analytic Idealism (Part II): An alternative formulation of idealism

Thanks, Cleric! This is really helpful. I agree with pretty much everything you are saying here. There is no fundamental dualism. Everything, including egoic or automatic thoughts, ultimately comes from the Creative Dynamism. My only question is this: how do you go about finding within yourself tha...

Re: Intuitive Idealism vs. Analytic Idealism (Part II): An alternative formulation of idealism

Ashvin, I don't feel insulted in the least. But I wouldn't call myself an "Eastern mystical type". I'm much more interested in quantum mechanics than in Buddhism or Vedanta, for example. My favourite spiritual tradition is Shamanism (which in my view lies at the root of all spirtual tradi...
