Re: What causes bad trips?

Here's another one: The self-sustaining-fear-loop. 1. I notice that my thoughts are causing my emotional response 2. I think "I hope I won't think any scary thoughts" 3. That, in itself is a scary thought. 4. I become fearful 5. I realize that I just trapped myself in a fear-loop 6. That, ...

Re: The possibility of "magic" and universal transcendence

The vague models that Dean Radin draws up in his book Real Magic hints at something similar to MAL being the unifying medium which makes magic (psi/ prayer/ ... ) possible. Re: Yet Another Stupid Question in Metaphysics

And there must be sentient humans who perceive them, but can never make any sense out of any of it. - My guess is that most of those humans would dismiss that number sequence as "impossible" claiming that there must be a design flaw in the machinery which produced it, and then go about th...

Re: John Horgan defends not knowing

I know BK and others want to hit on this meme of materialistic science but, in fact, it would make no difference if science started with a idealistic premise. Science would be identical in either case. Just because you start from an idealistic premise doesn't suddenly make the supernatural possible...
