Re: May existence be a kind of "maturation" process for MAL?

Seems good reasoning, Hedge90. A niggling doubt is: in this scenario, we are placing a whole lot of importance on ourselves (considering how big the Universe is and how short a time we're likely to be here), which smacks of hubris and anthropocentrism.

Re: Robot Dog and Consciousness Article

My interpretation: "Woof!" = "I agree the article is pretty good"
"WOOF!!" = "Very pleasantly surprised that it quotes David Chalmers"
"Woof-woof-woof!!!" = "It will be brilliant when these articles quote BK".

Robot Dog and Consciousness Article

The article is pretty good - quotes David Chalmers. When these articles quote BK, we'll know we've arrived.

Re: Blood Transfusions and alter formation

What you say about the possibility of life in minerals, etc is certainly an interesting hypothesis, Ashvin. If we look at Jungian-style astrological theory, the planets are "alive" in the sense that they embody and represent archetypal patterns of behaviour. But it is usual to see these ar...

Re: Discussion pertaining to old MS forum thread.

Jung's "individuation" is that process and he wrote about "active imagination" as an exercise to help transcend mere intellect. All of this information, insights, exercises, etc. on higher cognition is available, we just need to take it seriously and put in some effort to engage...

Re: Why should M@L = God be loving?

In addition to the two excellent replies above, I'd add that Love is what you get when you "join up". At present, we are dissociated (separated); "joining up" (re-associating) is experienced as Love.

Re: Discussion pertaining to old MS forum thread.

I must give you credit for a good and thoughtful reply -thank you, Ashvin. The problem I have is with the idea that dissociated alter-humans can ever simply direct themselves to evolve spiritually . Our minds are like an iceberg - most of what drives us is beyond the control of our rational understa...

"New age BS and blind hubris" is not sneering tone?
No, it's not. The suggestion that we are in control of our destiny is just ridiculous and deserves to be called out. I suggest you read the latest post by John Michael Greer.

Re: Discussion pertaining to old MS forum thread.

I am going to ignore the sneering tone in your last comment You think you're clever, don't you? First, there was no sneering tone. Second, far from ignoring my purported tone, by mentioning it, you actually suggest it for the purpose of demeaning what I said. I think you're not spiritually advanced...

Re: Discussion pertaining to old MS forum thread.

The point I made in the quote above was simple, Ben. We have a scientific mode of consciousness now that ancient people did not have. Do you dispute that? I don't know what "scientific mode of consciousness" means. Nor would 99% of the population, I suspect. In the case of another Dark Ag...
