Re: (Short) The High Ideal of Metamorphosis

Only when the images on which we concentrate feel completely and tightly in-phase with our thinking activity, we can say that they are completely our own creation and thus they tightly reflect the thinking gestures that we perform
This is what it was.

Re: (Short) The High Ideal of Metamorphosis

The only solution would be to gradually gain some stability of pure thinking, for example by making some simple calculations entirely in thought, to imagine and manipulate geometric figures, to experiment with sound and so on. This would restore some of the confidence that thinking can be stable ev...

Re: Hierarchies of Dissociation

yeh well, the point is that I don't think Analytic Idealism assumes any chalk lines (at least none that "go all the way up"). And expecially not in the formulation in this thread.

Re: Hierarchies of Dissociation

" However, [the layers of reality between personal mind and MAL] do not seem to be necessary to account for reality. " This does not signal an assumption that the layers do not exist. It only states that they do not seem necessary . Yes, I know... and I am saying there is no reason for th...

Re: Hierarchies of Dissociation

Great points, Dana. We can also observe how there is an entirely unwarranted assumption that our "planetary environment" only includes what we can physically perceive as flattened pictures around us. Modern science has already established very concrete links between invisble and extra-ter...

Re: Hierarchies of Dissociation

I don't think Analytical Idealism is saying this. I think it's only saying that it doesn't know , doesn't have a suggestion on how to know, and doesn't need to know, in order to argue its central thesis. Maybe one can say that it's Agnostic to the question? How is Ben, speaking on behalf of analyti...

basically saying that even if such realms exist, we are innately precluded by nature from accessing them, and they have no bearing on our life, so why even bother. Re: Hierarchies of Dissociation

Why does Analytic Idealism go straight from the personal mind to the transpersonal mind? Can it not account for other layers of reality which people sometimes experience - for instance, souls of the deceased and angelic beings? Here' s an answer in line with Analytic Idealism as I understand it: Hi...

Re: Gebser and the Mutations of Consciousness

I like those Beeples. Especially the banana, (i like surrealism), but the others have merit as well. Why are we discussing him though? and I do not get the emphasised Barfield quote. My best reading from it is that you should stay away from art depicting bad things because your world will change to...
