Re: Is it just me who is going through a lot of existential angst about idealism?
1. There is only One World ( not one "dream world" existing 'next to' another "real world"). 2. We are this One World - the World we see is our inner life projected as something other than us, i.e. the objects and processes we perceive around us. 3. Our current perspective we ca...

Re: I feel like Bernardo is getting carried away in a scary direction
The meanings and ideals do exist as forms of consciousness and like any other forms of consciousness - perceptions, imaginations, acts of will, thoughts etc. They are all creations of consciousness, and they are all experienced by consciousness. There is no nihilism here. But they do not exist some...

Re: The Center of the Central Topic (Part 2)
Hello So, I've been through parts 1-3 (thanks again Cleric!). First off, I'm very happy to see Cleric and Eugene being on essentially on the same page with regards to this central discussion. As I said at the outset on my original post, I was surprised by the amount of overlap I saw between the two ...

Hi Cleric,
Thanks yet another time! I need some time to digest and experiment.

I'm replying about the funnel and the tunnel in a new thread because it turned out to be quite long. Actually the more concrete reply will be in Part 2.

Re: The Center of the Central Topic (Part 1)
Hi Cleric
Thanks for the huge amount of effort you have put into this!
And thanks, Eugene and Ashvin, for clarifying comments.
I need to practice and read for awhile to process all of this. Also, I need to wait patiently for part 2, without which I doubt I'll understand fully or correctly.

Re: Cleric and Eugene on "Thinking" and The Central Topic
I truly think that much of what we are ostensibly discordant about is due to a) trying to express the non-verbal in words, and b) we each have our unique way of using words. Put these together and we are sometimes breaking our heads over nothing, lol. What I am calling self-remembering is NOT a pas...

Re: Cleric and Eugene on "Thinking" and The Central Topic
What I don't see is that stepping outside the movie, and the experiences that it leads to, is passive. ... I also don't see how any spiritual activity of any kind can happen without the process of being aware of what is happening in my thinking or Thinking. To be aware is precisely this self-rememb...

Re: Cleric and Eugene on "Thinking" and The Central Topic
Mike, I wanted to mention one more thing here, so maybe we can avoid some of the traps which have occurred with Eugene and FB, and derailed threads for many days and weeks and months even. Let's grant that Cleric is not lying or hallucinating during his imaginative forays into spiritual realm. I th...
