Re: What we Learned from JW's Monism
I must also ask what is the actual relevance of all of those germans JW was going on about without getting into much depth upon? Did heidegger and kriekgard and husserl and the like (however their long names are spelt) really somehow make metaphysics utterly irrelevant? he kept stating this yet nev...

Re: What we Learned from JW's Monism
Ok, does that mean that you are still 100 percent convinced of idealism or do you think you are only 90% there, I am asking because you mentioned this percentage yourself yesterday or so. Let's put it this way, I've found nothing that even comes close to usurping the indelible experience. But I sup...

Re: What we Learned from JW's Monism
Note: This has been moved over from Mark's topic-specific thread. Dana, may I address something that seems contradictory. There is a common held belief that "direct aquaintance" is the only thing that can seal the deal, bringing someone from pure speculation to knowing. It has seemed to m...

Re: what is not in mind is abstract
In this sense we can say that our idea of MAL is abstract because there's no concrete perception (doesn't need to be sensory) that we can match our concept of MAL against. On the other hand, thinking is not abstract because we can observe it - we can experience the concept of thinking against the p...

Re: Criticism
I think JW was welcomed in a pretty awesome way. I kicked things of with a audio-video to ask him something, soon Mr. Shu invited him to other threads, I humorously asked him to record a Hoelderlin-poem for us on video...and sure, he got some push-back as well, after all this forum is around BK and ...
