Re: Rudolf Steiner's Fifth Gospel by John David Ebert
Here's the take I'm going with ... If it can't be forsaken, then not wanting it is a moot point. In which case, what's to be done with it, but to make of it something good and beautiful? I can imagine no more worthy telos.

Re: Rudolf Steiner's Fifth Gospel by John David Ebert
I'd suggest that Ashvin has hit upon a very simple and powerful teaching ... There is only one Awareness. Thou art That. Everything else, without exception, is what that Awareness is addicted to. Give it all up and that Awareness remains. And yet can it be given up? There's the rub.

Re: Consciousness matters
The rock may not represent a dissociated alter psyche, but, under idealism, it must be associated with some CA of some psyche, right? Now perhaps we do not perceive the rock in its fullness, only by its exterior surface which does not appear to have any interiority, but that would more likely be a ...

Re: Rudolf Steiner's Fifth Gospel by John David Ebert
At most we do temporarily in moments of clarity, but then we are right back to smoking that Cartesian crack, like a true addict. [/i] Oh how I know the feeling ... it seems the ultimate 'Catch 22'. Indeed, the causeless ontological imperative toward expressing/experiencing/exploring this 'self' -pe...

Re: Consciousness matters
I guess one possible interpretation is that the CA of another being, no doubt more powerful than us, is being 'channeled' through each unit in question, and since the units appear to differ upon direct or indirect observation, the CA being channeled must be distinguishable in some respect. Whether ...

Re: Consciousness matters
I've read the Seth books as well, in which there are constant references to units of consciousness, and I still haven't clearly understood what that refers to, or how they come to be phenomenally represented, or how such units correspond to a psyche that may have no corporeal appearance at all. Inde...

Re: The Role of Poetry
the key factual paradigm shift is that AG will write and read a poem at the upcoming Super Bowl. [/i] Perhaps, insofar as it's not Madonna singing the poetry of "You know we're living in a material world, and I am a material girl" . Mind you, Madonna actually did sing the poetry of 'Like ...

Re: The Role of Poetry
The interview is not available in Canada, so I can't make any assessment as to how it is primarily focused on metaphysics. I'll let it stand for now, as it doesn't seem to be generating much pertinent feedback. In any case, most of the original post may be better suited to the 'art' section.
