Herger The Joyous wrote: Fri Sep 03, 2021 1:01 pm Have you looked into John David Ebert with his work on Rudolf Steiner?
He is an experienced Steiner scholar with a large body of work covering Steiner's work.
This lecture series is a decent place to start.

Herger,

I have watched some of JDE's videos. I did really like his analysis at first, but then I grew more weary. I found videos where he purports to be talking to Jung, Steiner, and other souls via some lady who is a channeling medium. He asked a bunch of questions and the answers were always the most vague possible ones which could be given, especially when it came to their specific philosophical-scientific ideas during their most recent incarnation. I'm not sure if he was skeptical and just wanted to explore the possibility, or if he actually thought he was in direct contact with them through the medium. After that, I basically stopped watching.

So you are employing a BS detector too

we who crave deep secrets and mysteries,

Yeah the BS detector should always be functioning, but it needs to guard also against excessive and premature cynicism. We need to reason through everything on a case by case basis and in the holistic context of what is being discussed. The abstract LBH wants to fragment all knowledge so that no credence is ever given to any integral knowledge higher than its own, and we can't underestimate its desire to accomplish that end. Steiner does not simply mention things like ancient Atlantis in isolation, rather it is part of much broader framework of metamorphic spiritual history perceived via higher cognition. When we engage our Reason and basic Imagination, we are already participating in some of that spiritual perception with him. Apart from direct experience via higher cognition, we can really be confident in our reasoned conclusions when we start to perceive how, even if things like ancient Atlantis were never mentioned, we would need to invent some similar phase of human evolution on Earth just to make sense of the holistic metamorphic progression.

So did Atlantis exist on some kind of astral plane or did it exist in the same way as America, Asia, Africa, Antarctica and Europe now exist?

Curiously enough, the Seth books, being so-called 'channelled' by Jane Roberts, a notion that even she was skeptical about, apparently taking dictation from Seth, purporting to be a transcorporeal entity no longer focused within the corporeal construct, who also had some things to say about Atlantis, especially in volume 2 of The Unknown Reality. Here's an excerpt that may be of interest ...

Seth speaking: "Your ideas of Atlantis are partially composed of future memories. They are psychic yearnings toward an ideal civilization—patterns within the psyche, even as each fetus has within it the picture of its own most ideal fulfillment toward which it grows. Atlantis is a land you desire to inhabit, with your dreams and your fantasies serving as an impetus for development. It is real and valid in that respect. In your terms it is not 'yet' physically manifest, but in some ways it is more real than any physical artifact, for it carries in it a psychic blueprint. It carries also, however, the imprint of your fears, for the tales say that Atlantis was destroyed. You place it in your past while it exists in your future. Not the destruction alone, but the entire pattern seen through the framework of your beliefs. Beside this, however, many civilizations have come and gone in somewhat the same manner, and the 'myth' of Atlantis is somewhat based then on earthly civilizations in your terms."

In any case, if indeed such transcorporeal entities exist, what would preclude them from conveying information in this manner of so-called channelling?

I think that this is addressed in my Seth-inspired reply to Ashvin.

Interesting, thanks, I will need to read that later. I don't think anything precludes this communication in principle. Rather JDE videos are highly suspect precisely because they provide no details for us to reason through. Steiner on the other hand is chock full of such details and from
multuple lines of spiritual sight - not only higher cognition, but also simple intellectual reasoning.

Yeah, if nothing else the several volumes of Seth books are not lacking in detail. I feel you might actually find some intuitive resonance with the essence of it, just as I did.

I remember reading a book by Hungarian-Canadian psychotherapist Andrew Feldmár, titled the Rainbow States of Consciousness, in which one of the stories was about a person who allegedly got possessed / visited by an "angel". That angel dictated a text to her (or him? can't remember) about a new set of chyropractic techniques, which provide to be highly effective went on to be one of the number 1 guides for chiropractors around the world. I haven't checked the credibility of the story, but I'm mostly trusting in Feldmár.
