The tiny ones are surely part of the checks-and-balances. The dream is that we might check ourselves (limit ego, ambition, etc). Will be sad if the wee ones must limit us. It always comes down to relationship. In science lingo, emerging zoonotic diseases arise from an expanding human-wild interface.
