Surviving Death

New Netflix series called 'Surviving Death' all about near-death experiences (NDEs). I don't think there is any particular agenda on the part of the director and producer other than to get the word out about these quite remarkable experiences. They clearly support the idea that the brain functions in a way as a filter. that the brain is a manifestation of consciousness rather than the source or producer of consciousness as would be the standard understanding from the Nominalist/Materialist perspective. It totally supports the idea that consciousness (ie. relationality) is primordial and that matter is derived. Which would be consistent with the position of objective idealism that was where Schopenhauer, CS Peirce, and Kastrup are all converging on. Which is the idea that consciousness is foundational, that space-time is a construct of an interface with embodied existence as physical actuality, but that the essential hidden condition is a relational real potentiality. Which is also consistent with David Bohm and the relativistic modification of the transactional interpretation of quantum mechanics (Ruth E Kastner). That is, that there is an underlying hidden relational reality that is what Bohm called the Implicate Order which unfolds into the Explicate Order which is the material world that we are able to directly sense. But that what orders the physical are organizing relations which can only be inferred, but not directly sensed. A relation is not a 'thing'. It is what lies between things. There is one thing that is the fundament and a second thing which is the terminus for a relation directed from fundament to terminus. And there may be another relation for which the terminus of the first relation is the fundament of the second relation and the terminus of the second relation is the fundament of the first relation which would mean there was a bidirectional relation between the two things. And then there is the SIGN relation between the SIGNIFIER, the SIGNIFIED, and the INTERPRETANT, which is the significance of the relation between signifier and signified. Three items linked together six unidirectional relations or three bidirectional relations.

I watched and enjoyed most episodes, but the physicalist mediums were just too ridiculous and I felt those episodes were a waste of a good platform.

I liked the first and last episodes best. As one who is familiar with and not skeptical of mediumship, I found the episodes presented here as not impressive.
