Being you - Anil Seth

Post by JeremyN »

I’d be interested in others views of Anil Seth’s book. My view is that he largely sidesteps why and how consciousness exists and focusses on the content of consciousness and why it has the phenomenological properties it has in terms of physical mechanisms and processes in the brain and body. Does this avoid Bernardo’s criticism in respect of the impossibility of trying to quantify quality, as set out in his text Science Ideated? I’d particularly welcome opinion in respect of where Seth’s and Bernardo’s views are opposed.
