Is Information = Consciousness?

Some scientists argue that information is equal to consciousness. Would you agree? And what is your definition of information and consciousness?
Is subjective experience just information or is phenomenal consciousness unexplainable?

What knows the information?

Could Information just be the latest fancy term for the original (or perhaps even the modulated) excitations of primal awareness?

Information is a meta-conscious interpretation of experienced/cognitive aspects of consciousness, I would say

in the most undisciplined, irreverent and
original manner possible.”

These kinds of Information theories (Shannon information etc.) are quantitative math, and qualia are irreducible to quantification.

Etymologically word 'information' can be interpreted as a container of some sort having-creating forms as mental images.
