OK, I was just traumatized by the shrieking Wicked Witch of the West, who was out to steal Dorthy's ruby footwear ... Seriously, in the video I shared, Jürgen does make a clear distinction between so-called shamanism, as it is understood by most in a very facile way, and authentic, deeply nuanced shamanhood (though he doesn't use that term), as it is taught and practised by the real deals, as the two should not be conflated as equivalent, and he makes no claims to being in the latter category, of which the former is at best a mere imitation, and at worst a bastardization, as in the case of the QAnon 'shaman.'
Here out of instinct or grace we seek
soulmates in these galleries of hieroglyph and glass,
where mutual longings and sufferings of love
are laid bare in transfigured exhibition of our hearts,
we who crave deep secrets and mysteries,
as elusive as the avatars of our dreams.

I've never read Baum's original, only this:

Good that you mention it, we were talking while ago with Lou about Red path and other paths of natives, and I asked about the Yellow path. A natural mythological association was the Yellow Brick Road that the ruby footwear steps on their way to Emerald city.

Baum had... let's say 'interesting'... relation with the natives.

I didn't read the Baum novel initially, until as a parent I read several books in the Oz series to our son. It is a wonderful modern metaphorical mythos, IMHO.

The ones that tell where to scratch.

Ok, I gave the NTA video another chance, and it wasn't bad at all. The Western very traumatic ethnobiography is very important issue, and the role of the great witch hunt after the crisis of late middle age can't overstressed in that respect. Materialistic psychiatry is direct continuation of that. Interestingly, the guy uses term "dissassociation" in the context of Western collective trauma.

Visual focus is not universal. I'm aware of a t least two main focuses of attention / characters, visual and bodily awareness.
