All indications would point that way. On the other hand, I don't rule out the possibility of a 'stroke' of spiritual insight due to reasons unknown. But I don't see how any further attempts to call their attention to PoF, for ex., are going to help. They simply aren't interested in considering anything which strays too far from their established intellectual framework.

I guess it's all relative to some extent, in that given where the intellectual framework was at in academia during the time they began their post-grad work, no doubt they feel that their ideation has evolved a long way from that point. Yet I too have this nagging feeling that they'd be better off not having entered it in the first place, as being anchored in it tends to act as a drag effect holding them back.
